H.I.M Vol. 1
A few months ago a mysterious artist responding to H.E.R’s Vol. 1 going by the name H.I.M released an EP consisting of 8 tracks. H.E.R’s tracks had the industry buzzing and wondering who in the hell was this artist giving crazy vibes! Well now there is a male version of H.E.R and his responses to the Vol.1 are just as good as H.E.R Vol. 1 who hit over a million streams via Soundcloud and now Spotify.
What makes both these artists interesting is that they have a laid back vibe with songs that are easy to relate to. There hasn’t been too much buzz with H.I.M Vol.1 which I’m not quite understanding, but he is gaining traction. However, the only thing I know about him is that he’s an indie artist.
And now the CEO of MBK Jeff Robinson, @hermusicofficial management. Someone pls tell me the real problem because this is a response EP and I think we made this clear especially in the title (HER in mind) so of course we used some of the same melodies (NOT ALL) but some and reproduced the records and put our own spin to it because it’s a RESPONSE!!! It was INTENTIONAL! For the exception of HYMN, Impatient, and Himtros of course which are all originals. Indie artist do covers of major artists all the time without asking and artist do response records since forever. Another indie artist did the exact same thing with one song but I don’t see them going after him!!??? Do I feel like we have way better records? Absolutely! But we did this to challenge ourselves and make this interesting and thought it would be great for RnB! I mean we did this in LESS THAN 3 weeks!!! And of course use this as an opportunity to be heard. If you don’t like the music that’s fine but no need for the shade especially when you are part of a machine and we are just artists trying to make it. We out here hustlin so don’t knock it! Oh and I’m JUST GETTING STARTED! 😎 #HimVol1 #staytuned
I hate highlighting the bad but H.I.M. has been getting some push back from H.E.R’s management. Personally, I can’t see what is wrong with the records especially since he put a spin to it and specifically stated these were his response. Much respect to both artists. It gives two different artists a platform but I’m guessing management only wanted one of H.E.R. which there still is. However, this artist most definitely deserves a shot at his platform.
The Mysterious Artist
H.I.M is a bit more mysterious than H.E.R besides Google let the cat out of the bag as to who H.E.R. really is. Management did some rebranding of H.E.R and they are doing a great job.
Focus ingon H.I.M Vol.1 we can only judge by his music. There isn’t much leading to who is behind the mystery voice. If you loved H.E.R. Vol. 1 I have no doubt that you would love this version as well! From beginning to end you can listen to all 8 tracks below:
