A Seat At The Table
On Friday 9/30/16 after 4 years of waiting Solange blessed the world with a new album. “A Seat At The Table” and it was everything we (the fans wanted). I’ve had two days to listen to this album over and over and over again. Each time I have a little more respect, love and understanding of the importance of the album. The album embodies creativity and the fact that one of the best Guerilla Marketing “Kings” Master P. were on the interludes constantly inspiring throughout the album. The lyrics of every song are relatable and in today’s time where racial times have spilled over to every aspect of life its great to listen another outlook. The contemporary work illustrates an unapologetic black woman finding herself in the midst of adversity, self-expression, self peace while pushing the importance of not being silent.
Solange came ready to take over music in her own way. 48 hours later we were given two new videos! There two songs are currently my favorite and I will probably have a new favorite tomorrow. But for now enjoy both videos below. Solange’s talent fly’s under the radar but it she wrote, co-produced,and arranged all the songs on the album.
Both videos are directed by Solange and her husband Alan Ferguson.
